The Pareto Principle
Joyce Bone
A sign of a successful person is their ability to edit. It becomes a matter of looking at your day-to-day activities and picking out the few critical tasks which will further you the most. What is the Pareto Principle? Otherwise known as the 80/20 rule this principle says 20% of the work you do accounts for 80% of your results. The 80/20 rule is the answer to the question you are bound to be asked, "How do you manage to do it all?" Don't do it all do what is most important. Figure out what the 20% activities are everyday. So that we are clear, the 20% is the action taken that will put the most money in your bank account. Once you know what that is focus as much energy and time on it as possible. Mark your 20% list "1,2,3" or "A,B,C" and do the work in that order. Ignore the 80% until the critical actions are accomplished. If you do this daily you will find yourself propelled down the path of success. If you don't you will find yourself bogged down. Remember all skills are learnable and are like a muscle; the more you use it the stronger it becomes.
