“One of the hallmarks of the great ones is their level of awareness as to what they are willing to fight for. They’re willing to suffer and sacrifice to make their visions reality.” –Steve Siebold
Pain & Pleasure
Humans are motivated by two things: the avoidance of pain and the experience of pleasure.
There is no good time. There is no bad time. There is only your time, and it is what you make it.” – Earl Leonard
I read this statement in a local paper. It was referring to a talk given by Earl Leonard, a former Coca Cola CEO to University of Georgia students. He was referring to the dim job prospects. He reminded the students that in 1860 the 40 students that graduated that year went off to fight in the Civil War, only 9 returned home.
I recently spent time with Cynthia Good, Founder of Pink and Little Pink Book. Cynthia is a long time Atlanta resident. I grew up watching her as the Channel 5 anchorwoman. She has spent her career passionately advocating for women and families. She epitomizes grace, beauty & intelligence. Of course, we love her for this!

Maurice “Vic” Duvic, 90, Author of “Forty Missions & Home” and I spoke about his book and long life. Vic, a war hero and member of the greatest generation shared with me what it was like flying 40 war time missions as part of the North African Allied forces, surviving, coming home and becoming the father of 8 children. He was called back to active duty and served 21 months in the Korean War.

Let me use success as material for thankfulness;
Let me use suspense as material for perseverance;
I have vivid dreams. I have two reoccurring dreams. I can fly. I just start running and then I soar through the air. What fun that is! I look forward to this dream.
Other times I dream I’m driving a car and all of a sudden I can’t see…it’s either raining really hard or the lights go out. I know I am about to crash. I am powerless to do anything about it.
